Why Is Sombr Beefing With a 25-Year-Old Concertgoer?

The internet can’t stop talking about Sombr’s latest TikTok drama; a messy back-and-forth between the 20-year-old singer and a 25-year-old concertgoer named Megan Tomasic. Well… both Sombr and Megan are Gen Z, so The GenZStars Team now tells you all that went down. :))

So… the drama all started after Megan, on Wednesday (Oct. 15), posted a now-viral TikTok about her experience at one of Sombr’s shows, which she said was “so bad.”

Then Sombr fired back with his own video, mainly calling her crash out ‘…a skill issue’. So, now everyone is debating who is really in the wrong. But, really, what actually went down? What’s with the “Sombr Drama” hashtags? Let’s break it all the fudge down.

What Started the Sombr Concert Drama?

Earlier this month, Sombr performed in Washington, D.C., and one of the people in the crowd; Megan, didn’t exactly have a great time. After the show, she took to TikTok to vent, calling it “genuinely the worst concert” she’d ever been to.

She said she realized pretty quickly that she was not the target audience. Most of the crowd were tweens; “like thousands of middle schoolers running around,” she said, and the jokes Sombr made during his set only confirmed that.

What Did the Concertgoer Say About Sombr’s Performance?

In her video, Megan said the show felt like “brain rot on stage.” She said Sombr kept making inside jokes that only 12-to-16-year-olds would get and even threw in a “six seven” joke; a popular meme with much younger fans.

But what really upset her was the mix of kid humor and adult comments. According to her, Sombr made a few vulgar jokes during the concert, saying things like “bark for me,” “d**k sucked” “I’m Daddy,” “good girl“, and even even “someone tried to suck my d**k.” She said she couldn’t imagine being a parent in that crowd and hearing that kind of talk.

Megan said she left early, calling the whole show “embarrassing to watch” and saying older fans should “stick to Spotify.”

What Exactly Happened at the Washington, D.C. Show?

Clips from the concert that later surfaced on TikTok seem to match what Megan described; chaotic energy, jokes flying everywhere, and a crowd mostly made up of teens and tweens.

Sombr’s live shows are known for that kind of high-energy, meme-filled chaos, but this time, it clearly rubbed some people the wrong way.

How Did Sombr Respond to the Viral TikTok?

A few days later, Sombr posted a video of his own, and he didn’t hold back. He started by saying;

“I thought I was chronically online, but it’s just come to my attention that there’s TikTok drama because a 25-year-old came to my concert and complained it was cringe.”

He said he respects people having opinions, but also pointed out that he’s “freshly 20.” In his words:

“If you’re 25 years old and you go to a 20-year-old’s concert and expect no tweens, that’s just a skill issue.”

Sombr said people should already know what to expect from him, calling his stage personality “never serious.” He also added that he only jokes for “five minutes of the concert; the rest is music.”

What Did Megan Say Back to Sombr’s ‘Rant’?

Megan Tomasic didn’t stay quiet. She came back with another TikTok on Monday morning, calling Sombr’s response “a dumb PR move.” She said he ignored everything she said and instead made it about her age. “He basically called me geriatric for being 25,” she said.

She came back at Sombr, throwing his words back at him by captioning the video: “at least PR isn’t my skill issue”.

She also denied “body-shaming” him after Sombr accused her of calling him names. Megan explained that she’d only said he looked like “Slenderman and Napoleon Dynamite” when he danced; not as an insult, but as a funny comparison.

Then she went all in, saying:

“You know your crowd is young teens. You admit that.

So why are we talking about getting our d**k sucked?”

Why Are Fans Calling It a ‘Skill Issue’ Feud?

The “skill issue” line from Sombr’s video quickly became a meme, with fans using it to joke about both sides. Some thought Sombr’s response was funny and totally in line with his online humor.

Others said he sounded defensive and immature, especially since Megan’s main point was about his crowd being too young for his onstage jokes.

What’s the Internet Saying About Sombr and Megan’s Beef?

The reaction online has been mostly wild. Some fans are defending Sombr, saying Megan Tomasic should’ve known his concerts are chaotic and not meant for older crowds. But many others think Sombr overreacted and made things worse by “punching down” at a fan over valid criticism.

Megan also said she’s been getting hate comments and even death threats since Sombr’s response went viral. Some users are calling on him to address that or at least take accountability for how his fans are reacting.

Is Sombr Facing Backlash From His Own Fans?

A few of Sombr’s long-time followers are split about how he handled it. While many still support him, others think his reaction was immature, especially since he’s rising fast and under more public attention than ever.

It’s not the first time Sombr’s humor has sparked mixed reactions, but this is one of the first times it’s led to this kind of public back-and-forth.

What’s Next for Sombr After the TikTok Drama?

Even with the Sombr drama hashtag still trending, Sombr isn’t slowing down. He’s set to make his Saturday Night Live (SNL) debut next month, which will mark another big step in his career. Whether the controversy follows him or fades out by then; we’ll have to see.

At the end of the day, this whole situation shows how tricky internet fame can get. Sombr’s audience is young, his humor is chaotic, and his rise has been fast. But when you mix viral fame with live performances and TikTok opinions, things can spiral quickly.

Sombr drama aside, one thing is clear and someone has to point it out: both Sombr and Megan have everyone talking. And in 2025, that’s its own kind of headline. But, then again, it also seems as though Megan isn’t planning to back down anytime soon… so The GenZStars Team will keep you posted on what’s new.
