On August 30, 2025, Somara posted an update revealing that her cervix was stitched together to keep her baby safe, and a few weeks following the cerclage surgery, she stayed away from going to work to focus on healing and making she that she and her baby were okay.
During her vacation, away from work, Somara suffered a minor depression related to the toll the pregnancy was taking on her. With the presence and assurances from her partner, she pulled through that and she and her baby are healthy and kicking.

Cue into this: Somara Theodore was five months pregnant at the time she had the procedure to fix her incompetent cervix, and her baby is doing just fine. Currently, she is eight months pregnant and her baby is set to be born later in December 2025.

Somara Theodore, whose real name is Somara Lenore Theodore, is a 35-year-old American meteorologist and television personality. She was born on September 28, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, to parents of Trinidadian origin. She is currently 35 years old, and currently serves as the on-air weather presenter for ABC News Good Morning America Weekend.
Theodore graduated from Penn State University, where she majored in meteorology with minors in energy business and finance, as well as Mandarin Chinese language.
